Eschatology

Eschatology is the study of the “last things” or the end times, derived from the Greek word ἔσχατος (éschatos), meaning “last”. It encompasses beliefs about the final judgment, the final destiny of the soul, and the ultimate fate of mankind and the world.

Are we in the end times? Well, that depends on what you consider the end times. Regardless of what you believe we are getting closer to “the end” all the time. (That is a profound statement =;->)

Rest assured as Christians we do know how the story of the world and mankind ends.

No longer will there be anything accursed, but the throne of God and of the Lamb will be in it, and his servants will worship him. They will see his face, and his name will be on their foreheads. And night will be no more. They will need no light of lamp or sun, for the Lord God will be their light, and they will reign forever and ever. (Rev 22:3-5 ESV)

He who testifies to these things says, “Surely I am coming soon.” Amen. Come, Lord Jesus (Rev 22:20 ESV)

There is no single place in the Bible that lists the exact events and timeline of the Endtimes. However, this information can be pulled from various locations in the Bible. The events and timeline of the Endtimes are greatly debated amongst Christian Theologians. The following is what I believe is the best list of events and timeline of the Endtimes. Notice, two of these events have already taken place.

End of Times Events

• 1st. Israel together again (Eze 37:21-22, Isa 11:12) - Occurred in 1948

• 2nd. Israel Control of Jerusalem (Jer 3:17) - Occurred in 1967

• 3rd. The Building of New Temple in Jerusalem (Dan 9:27)

• 4th. The Rapture of the Church (1 Cor 15:52)

• 5th. The Rise of the Antichrist & false prophet (antichrist being a political leader and the false prophet being a religious leader)(Rev 13:1, Dan 9:27 & Rev 19:20)

• 6th. The Tribulation (lasting for 7 years)(Rev 6-16)

• 7th. The Battle of Gog and Magog (at the start of Tribulation)(Ez 38-39)

• 8th. The Abomination of desolation at the New Temple (Dan 12:11, Mk 13:!4, Rev 12:17)

• 9th. The Battle of Armageddon (at the end of the tribulations)(Mk 14:62, Rev19:11-21)

• 10th. The Judgement of the Nations by Christ (Mt 25:31-46)

• 11th. The Binding of Satan for 1000 years. (Rev 20:1-3)

• 12th. The Millennial Kingdom for 1000 years. (Is 60-62, Rev 20)

• 13th. The last Battle (at the end of the 1000 years)(Rev 20:7-10)

• 4th. The Great White Throne Judgement. (Rev 20:11-15)

• The New Creation (Rev 21-22)
