Information about God & Science…
Deconstructing the myth that science disproves God. If you take the time to study the facts, you will learn that the more we understand about our universe, the more science proves that the God of the Bible created our universe.
The heavens declare the glory of God, and the sky above proclaims his handiwork. (Psalms 19:1 ESV)
The truth of God’s word does not change. What was the truth two millennium go according to God’s word is still the truth today. However, the “truth” of science is constantly changing. Yes, some scientific truths do not change. Water is made up of two parts hydrogen and one part oxygen, the speed of light is 186000 mi/s, etc. However, a lot of scientific “truths” of today are just theories, that will not stand the test of time. The Steady-State of the Universe was considered a scientific “fact” until the 1960s. The theory that the Earth is Expanding was once a “fact” that scientists accepted, it is now wholly disproven. Even Darwin’s vaunted theory of evolution is being scrutinized, due to the lack of the fossil record to sustain it.
From the University of Berkley, Science 101 presentation: “Accepted theories are the best explanations available so far for how the world works. They have been thoroughly tested, are supported by multiple lines of evidence, and have proved useful in generating explanations and opening up new areas for research. However, science is always a work in progress, and even theories change.”
There you have it, the “truth” of scientific theories change, but the truth of God’s word does not.
DNA is the instructions (i.e., data/information/program) on how to create a living cell. So where did these instructions come from?
Science can prove microevolution (e.g., different breeds of dog), but it cannot prove macroevolution—apes evolving into man or any other evolution of one kind of animal to another.
The math proves that the 4.5 billion year history of the Earth (assuming the Earth is really that old) does not provide enough time for a single-cell organism to evolve into a human being.
